    I was surprised !!!!!!! When tested additive manufactured materials ended up being stronger with better grain structure and overall composition than most CNC machined parts made out of barstock. It means that 3D printed materials that are printed then machined are excellent with less wastage and have a higher overall quality. A great new technology to add to our science and manufacturing processes going forward. 😎

    fascinating - I like the idea of utilizing a solid rod in an effort to seemingly control your micron size.. there is likely an equilibrium to be found where you need to regulate the feed rate of the wire versus the ambient heat in the chamber. unless that is over come by the argon? fascinating work you all do.

      That's the whole idea, you nailed it. As opposed to atomizing a melt pool, they atomize a tip of wire
